Claudia Gruber
Recruitment Coordinator

Claudia (she/her) is a music therapist, educator, and singer/songwriter born and raised in central New Jersey. With music therapy degrees from Duquesne University and Berklee College of Music, Claudia has dedicated her versatile career to using music to foster positivity and connectedness within her communities. At Berklee, Claudia co-directed and managed the social media for the vocal jazz group, Point of Departure, during which the group won Downbeat Magazine’s Outstanding Large Ensemble award and released their first two EPs: Circadian and In Time!. Claudia was also a member of the award-winning a cappella group, Pitch Slapped, where she performed around the country, led workshops for high school students, and opened for Pentatonix during their tour.

Claudia’s music therapy background ranges from working in pediatrics, mental health care, to sharing the evolving research on songwriting and its impact on emotional and physical wellness. She further combines her love for music therapy with education through teaching private voice and piano lessons, where she encourages her students to be themselves and embrace their own unique voices.

As a songwriter and music lover, Claudia is an avid session vocalist and top-line writer for numerous projects, such as recording background vocals and creating personalized songs from scratch, with genres ranging from rock to pop and RnB. She continues to release her own music, including her original albums, Opportunity and Heartsongs EP. As an A Cappella Academy alum, Claudia aims to inspire others in their musical and personal endeavors, and hopes that A Cappella Academy can be a part of their journey just as it was for hers!
