James Bailey
Summer Assistant
James Bailey (he/him) is a vocalist, songwriter, arranger, and aspiring music educator from Indianapolis, Indiana. James started his journey with a cappella as a freshman at Lawrence North High School, where he joined the SATB group Voices. Since then, James has been heavily involved in the music world, performing in multiple musicals, recording original songs, and taking the stage as a member of Ball State University's celebrated show choir, University Singers. Currently a junior at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. James is currently pursuing a degree in Vocal Music Education with a minor in Music Recording. Beyond academics, James serves as the head coordinator of Unexpected Resolution, Ball State’s award-winning tenor/bass a cappella group.After graduation James plans on teaching both voice and sound engineering at the high school level, where he hopes to inspire future generations of musicians. James attended Academy as a camper in 2022 and returned in 2024 as a counselor-in-training. James is so excited to join the Academy team as the Summer Assistant and work alongside so many talented individuals who share his passion for music and community.
