Director of Recruitment

Overview: A Cappella Academy, a world-class summer program for young vocalists aged 12-18, is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Director of Recruitment to spearhead our efforts to recruit the next generation of musical talent. This position will be fully remote, part-time, and paid hourly, with the most hours logged during our audition season of October-February.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment Strategy: Develop and execute creative outreach initiatives to attract talented vocalists worldwide from diverse backgrounds to audition for A Cappella Academy.

  • Outreach & Relationship-Building: Initiate and build strong relationships with vocal music educators, programs, festivals, and competitions worldwide. Use social media to identify and reach out to potential campers.

  • Research & Networking: Proactively identify schools, organizations, and communities with untapped potential for student recruitment. Stay informed about trends in youth vocal music and a cappella to guide recruitment efforts.

  • Promotion: Collaborate with Academy's admin and social teams to guide the creation of compelling content that highlights the unique experience of A Cappella Academy.

  • Organization & Data Management: Maintain detailed records of outreach activities, potential auditionees, and recruitment outcomes.

  • Advocacy: Act as a passionate ambassador for the Academy’s mission, embodying its mission of community, inclusivity, and artistic excellence.

  • Program Management: Take ownership of the recruitment program with minimal direction, ensuring every aspect runs smoothly and effectively.

Ideal Candidate Qualities:

  • Professional Expertise: at least 2 years experience in music education, outreach, program management, or a similarly applicable professional role.

  • Tech-Savviness: An avid user of Instagram and/or TikTok, and familiarity or willingness to learn email marketing platforms and data tracking systems.

  • Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships with educators, students, and organizations, often by reaching out cold.

  • Organized & Proactive: Strong organizational and research skills with the ability to manage the recruitment program independently, taking initiative to meet goals and adapt as needed.

  • Creative Problem-Solving: A forward-thinking mindset to innovate new approaches for reaching and engaging young vocalists.

  • Passion for A Cappella Academy

Compensation:

  • Pay will be hourly and depends on experience (DOE).
